Pray for the People of Charleston
St. Mary’s faith community condemns racial acts of violence in all cases and the senseless killing of good people coming together for Bible Study in Charleston, S.C. May God bless their families and church members as we pray for an end to these acts of hatred in our country and for all people to realize that we are each created in the image of God. -Fr. Yetter

The governor’s plan, called the Parental Choice in Education Act, will help keep Catholic schools affordable. The Act provides $150 million in education tax credits. Please demand that your legislators enact the Education Tax Credit before they conclude their work in mid-June. Please advocate today through the New York State Catholic Conference website: www.nyscatholic.org

St. Mary’s Launches Montessori Pre-K
Teresa Rice has been named Montessori-trained lead teacher working with three to six-year-olds at the new St. Mary’s Montessori preschool. St. Mary’s is the first Catholic elementary school to offer Montessori instruction in the Northtowns for children ages three through six. Instruction begins in September of 2015. Montessori prepares students in initiative, focus, independence, and accountability to strengthen their successful transition to the traditional St. Mary’s STREAM curriculum at the K-8 level and their journey into teenage and adult years. Call 689-8424 to register.
“I have seen firsthand the importance of the three year cycle of Montessori education, and have experienced the satisfaction of guiding children emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually through those years,” Rice said.
