Teacher Spotlight Tuesday: Mrs. Laderer
Our teachers at St. Mary School Swormville are incredible, and along with our wonderful students, they make up the heart and soul of our school! Each week we will be highlighting one of our exceptional teachers right here. This week we have Mrs. Laderer...
Name: Mrs. Staci Laderer
Grades/Classes you teach at SMS: 5th Grade Classroom Teacher
Experience: Masters Degree in Elementary Education at Western Governors University, nine years in the education field, six years as a teacher's aide, two years as a building substitute teacher.
Spouse/children/pets: I have a terrific husband, Cameron, who I will have been married to for one year in October. He is a software engineer. Together, we have two dogs, "Conan", a yellow labrador who loves to speak, and "Sophie", a pit-bull mix who acts like a cat!
Hobbies/talents: In my spare time, I love reading books. My favorite genre is fantasy. Also, I love playing games whether it be video games or board games. One Friday a month, we have a board game night with friends. Our favorite board games to play are Ticket to Ride, and Carcassonne. When I have the time, I enjoy baking and discovering new recipes to try.
Favorite food: Steak and Potatoes
Something you always tell your students: I grew up with Disney movies. One of my favorite films growing up was The Lion King. The quote that always stuck with me was "Ah, yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it." We can all learn from past mistakes and grow!
Which unconventional animal do you wish you could have as a pet? If I could own a fennec fox, I think that would be cool! However, I probably wouldn't like all of the holes in the ground that they would create from digging.
What’s your favorite sport to watch? My favorite sport to watch is lacrosse! My husband and I enjoy going to the Bandits games to watch them play.
What’s your favorite kind of weather? My favorite kind of weather is a chilly day where you need a sweater, with the sun shining.
Thank you Mrs. Laderer for all you do to make SMS the place to "bee"! 🐝
